Bradley Cooper and his mom, Gloria Campano, show off twinning looks on the 2024 Oscars red carpet
Host Jimmy Kimmel wasted no time pointing out Bradley’s choice of date, mentioning the actor’s tradition during his opening monologue at the Dolby Theatre.
“It’s quite endearing,” Jimmy quipped. “But the real question is, how many times can someone bring their mom as their date before it gets a little weird?”
Despite the light-hearted jab, Bradley, who portrayed composer Leornard Bernstein in his nominated film, took the joke in stride, explaining that he simply enjoys spending time with his mother.
In an interview with E! News last month, Bradley shared, “She’s just a great person to be around. She’s cool. And it’s always a thrill to have her with me because she’s not afraid to speak her mind.”
While Bradley and his mother have had their share of sweet red carpet moments, he’s not the only star to bring his mom as a date. Other actors like Timotheé Chalamet, Keanu Reeves, and Matthew McConaghey have also brought their mothers to the Academy Awards in the past. In a memorable moment, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck famously brought their mothers to the Oscars in 1998 when they won Best Original Screenplay for Good Will Hunting.
