Navigating Hate: TikToker Dylan Mulvaney’s Strategies for Dealing with Criticism on Social Media
Dylan Mulvaney doesn’t let negative comments get her down. The TikToker faces transphobic remarks online and faced backlash for her branded content partnership with Bud Light in 2023. Speaking to E! News, Dylan shared her simple solution for handling her haters – not reading the comments or Googling her name.
During a red carpet interview at the Women in Film Oscar Nominees Party before the 2024 Oscars, the 27-year-old explained how she focuses on the positive by avoiding negative comments. She mentioned, “I now have a way of ensuring I see the good people and interact with them, while skimming past the bad.”
To manage her social media presence, Dylan revealed that her assistant filters out and only shows her the positive comments about her, allowing her to stay focused on the supportive messages. Additionally, she is gearing up to celebrate the second anniversary of publicly sharing her transition on TikTok on March 12, just two days after the Academy Awards.
