Pop-Tarts Invites Taylor Swift to Share the Recipe for Chiefs Offensive Linemen
During the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, one interview stood out among the rest and generated a lot of buzz.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid’s revelation on Live PFT about Taylor Swift making homemade Pop-Tarts for the Chiefs offensive linemen caused quite a stir.
Pop-Tarts has now capitalized on the attention. In a full-page ad in the Kansas City Star, the company has asked Swift to share her recipe publicly. In return, Pop-Tarts will double its donation to Harvesters, a local food bank partner of Feeding America.
Ironically, it’s not in Pop-Tarts’ best interest for people to make their own Pop-Tarts, as they prefer customers to buy them. However, the free publicity this week will likely lead to increased sales of Pop-Tarts.
Advertising has a powerful effect. The more you hear about Pop-Tarts, the more appealing they become. In fact, I’m currently craving Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tarts on my way back from Indianapolis.
