A teenager has been killed in a horror crash and her little sister is in critical condition while on a “dream road trip” to attend a Taylor Swift concert.

The 16-year-old girl and her 10-year-old sister were in a vehicle traveling from the Gold Coast in Queensland to Melbourne when the SUV they were in collided with a semi-trailer on Dunedoo Road, Ballimore , near Dubbo in western NSW on Thursday around 6 p.m.

Emergency services attended the scene following reports of the collision, but the teenager could not be rescued.

She was reportedly sitting in the front passenger seat at the time of the accident.

The girl’s younger sister, who was sitting in the back of the vehicle, was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

A GoFundMe page was created Friday to organize funds for the family, with nearly $12,000 raised so far with a goal of $20,000.

“The family have had to stop work to fly and I am trying to find a flight to support the mother as she is alone in Dubbo until we can get her to Sydney,” Ms Fox said.
