Fan sacrifices attending aunt’s funeral to attend Taylor Swift’s Eras concert
Swifties are a loyal bunch, but this Taylor Swift fan may have just taken it a notch too far – and she did it on national radio.
Australian radio hosts Bec and Soda got more than they bargained for when they tasked listeners with proving their Swifty-dedication, and a woman called Kiara from Adelaide phoned into their Breakfast Show.
What would you miss in order to see Taylor on her Eras Tour in Melbourne tomorrow, was the question.
‘Okay, whatever Kiara, whatever. It’s blowing my mind – this is typical you – but I will just go with it and live with it,’ she conceded.
Unbelievably, her daughter then added: ‘You will be okay by Saturday.’ The day after she buries her sister.
But the plot was about to thicken to desperate levels, to the shock of the Adelaide DJs.
‘My kids know I will do anything for them but this is going to the next level. But what do you do? I can’t take away a dream I guess,’ Jodie said.
When asked for confirmation – after Kiara butted in with ‘you guys HAVE to be okay with this’ – Jodie said: ‘I will just have to deal with this, won’t I. That’s ok. I’m not going to take it away from my daughter but it’s very bitter sweet.’
Then, Kiara really came into her element as she celebrated her victory in tears, in a reaction mum Jodi said ‘melted’ her heart.
‘Holy cr*p! I’m going to meet Tay Tay. I’m crying so much. I’m exploding, I’m pacing up and down the house I can’t breathe, I need my puffer,’ she said.
