Queensland Taylor Swift Fans Ready for Melbourne and Sydney Tour Stops
When 14-year-old Isla Foxhall walks into her first concert this weekend, she’ll be in a crowd more than twice the size of the population of her home town.
The Gladstone teenager headed south on Wednesday morning for the first stop of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour – beginning with a two-hour drive to Bundaberg where she, mum Abby and friends would fly to Melbourne.
For Isla, it is a chance to connect.
She said there were not many people in her town of 35,000 people who liked Taylor Swift as much as her so she didn’t really get to bond with anyone.
“Except for my mum,” she said.
“I really like her music, even though people diss her, but I don’t know — she just brings comfort in her music. Her lyrics are meaningful.”
She said her enthusiasm was ramping up despite the 4,000 kilometre round-trip.
“We have been planning this for months — it’s almost at the point now where I’m just like, ‘I want this done with so we can just get there’.”
