Paris Jackson Removes Her Tattoos in Preparation for the 2024 Grammys – The Hollywood Reporter
Viewers of the 2024 Grammys might have noticed that Paris Jackson went for a look that exuded a sleek and chic vibe, and in doing so, the actress and singer-songwriter somehow wasn’t sporting one of her signature elements: her ink.
Jackson worked with New York-based Cover FX, the vegan and cruelty-free skincare line, to “erase” her 80-plus body tattoos to create a clean look for the Grammys red carpet. Makeup artists Tyler Fountaine and Paul Blanch worked with Cover FX products, including Total Cover Cream Foundation and Pressed Mineral Foundation, to provide the coverage as the base of Jackson’s red-carpet look. Jackson is also a vegan, hence the choice of Cover FX for her beauty look.
Fountaine explained his process for covering Jackson’s body tattoos. “We partnered with Cover FX because their Total Cover Cream Foundation has been a staple amongst makeup artists famous for its high coverage and high performance,” he explained in a statement. “This brand is a master of the base layer, as well as a clean beauty brand, which is very important to Paris. I started with the Gripping Primer to ensure the makeup really stuck to her skin. Then added a bit of the Power Play Liquid Foundation and followed with the Total Cover Cream Foundation for maximum coverage. I mixed in the Color Correct Stick in Flame to cut some of the darkness of the tattoos. I set the coverage with the Pressed Mineral Foundation opting for an actual powder foundation instead of a traditional setting powder to really lock in the liquids and creams and provide an additional layer of coverage. I finished with the High Performance Setting Spray to prevent the makeup from transferring and lasting all night.”
Ultimately the choice also allowed Jackson’s style choices to shine. For the 2024 Grammys red carpet, she wore a column dress with an asymmetrical top in satin-lined crepe, paired with Soir sandals in black lambskin, both from Celine by Hedi Slimane.
