Kartik Aaryan confesses to intentionally visiting the mall to be recognized: ‘I am a huge workaholic’
Kartik Aaryan recently shared his struggles with being a ‘workaholic x 100’, admitting to feeling burned out from his relentless work ethic. He mentioned that he often feels consumed by work and has not had the chance to pause and reflect on his life, comparing it to being in a never-ending race. He also confessed that he purposely walks into malls hoping to be recognized by fans.
In a recent interview with the Indian Express, Kartik Aaryan talked about his journey in Bollywood, recalling how he focused on landing his debut role during times of unemployment. Despite making a mark with Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011, he realized that he did not fully appreciate his achievement at the time, as he was more concerned about what was next.
One of his most enjoyable moments was when someone asked for a selfie and recognized him, leading him to deliberately walk through malls seeking recognition. He stated, “I would in fact walk into a mall deliberately so that people recognize me.”
Despite the ups and downs of fame since 2011, the 33-year-old actor acknowledged the toll of his relentless work ethic. He reflected on his initial focus on landing his first film and maintaining visibility in the industry, where he was often known as the ‘monologue guy’.
Kartik Aaryan expressed a desire for more variety in his career but admitted to struggling to find time for self-reflection due to the constant pressure of work. He mentioned, “I haven’t had the chance to sit and back reflect because I am in a race with no finish line.”
Recognizing the need for personal time, the actor admitted to feeling burnt out from constant work but finds it challenging to detach. He added, “I think I need time for myself also; I am getting a bit burnt out with this—just constantly been working. But the thing is, I don’t know anything else but work. I’ve tried that, but it doesn’t work for me. I am a workaholic x 100.”
Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan has an impressive filmography with notable films like Akaash Vani, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Shehzada, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Love Aaj Kal (2020), and Chandu Champion.
