CID Returns to Small Screen on Public Demand for Christmas, Shooting Starts in November
Sony Entertainment Network surprised everyone by releasing a teaser featuring Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman, sparking speculation about the return of the popular TV show CID. Pinkvilla has learned exclusively that CID is indeed making a comeback, allowing viewers to reconnect with beloved characters like ACP Pradyuman, Inspectors Daya, and Abhijit.
Sources close to the production reveal that the new season of CID will begin filming in Mumbai in November 2024. The cast, including Shivaji Satam, Aditya Shrivastava, and Dayanand Shetty, were excited to return after 6 years and have been working on multiple scripts for the perfect season.
Preparations for the return of CID have already started, with filming set to begin on November 15. The goal is to air the new season around Christmas/New Year, incorporating new technologies to solve cases and cater to modern audience preferences.
In addition to the original trio of Pradyuman, Daya, and Abhijit, the new CID will feature new cast members whose identities will be revealed in due time. CID ended its 20-year run in 2018 with 1547 episodes and is now set to make a comeback with a fresh approach tailored to today’s viewers.
