Suriya discusses possibility of reuniting with wife Jyothika on screen, emphasizes on it happening organically
Suriya and Jyothika are considered one of the power couples in South cinema. They have worked together in multiple films, with their last collaboration being the 2006 release Sillunu Oru Kaadhal. Recently, Suriya opened up about the possibility of reuniting with his wife on the big screen.
During an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla’s Masterclass, Suriya addressed the popular question of whether he would work with Jyothika in a film again.
While blushing at the question, Suriya expressed his willingness to collaborate but highlighted that the decision ultimately lies with filmmakers who need to come up with a suitable story for both of them.
Suriya stated, “I believe a movie should come together organically. It should be driven by the writer and director who see us as a fit for their project. We don’t actively seek out projects just because we are a couple and want to work together.”
He emphasized that as actors, they prioritize the art of filmmaking over personal interests and look for projects that truly resonate with them, like his upcoming film Kanguva.
Waiting for the right script to come their way, Suriya emphasized the importance of finding a project that respects their craft.

On the work front, Suriya is gearing up for the release of the film Kanguva, directed by Siva, scheduled to hit theaters on November 14, 2024.
The movie also stars Bollywood actors Disha Patani and Bobby Deol. Promotions for the film have begun, with the recent release of the second single YOLO receiving positive feedback from fans.
