Shaandaar Celebrates 9 Years: Alia Bhatt’s Emotional Moment Dancing with Shahid Kapoor on Gulaabo

It’s the 9-year anniversary of Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s film Shaandaar today. Fans loved the hit party song Gulaabo. Looking back, Alia Bhatt remembers feeling nervous about dancing alongside Shahid and trying to keep up with his energy, which even brought her to tears at one point.

During the launch event for the song Gulaabo, Alia Bhatt talked about dancing with Shahid Kapoor, a top dancer in Bollywood. She confessed to being very anxious about matching his flawless moves, especially since it was their first dance together.

Despite her efforts, the pressure was too much for her at times, and she even cried. She said, “I was very nervous because I had to dance with Shahid. Even with just 10 percent of his dancing skills, he looks amazing on stage. So, I had to keep up with him. I worked really hard. At one point, I even cried.”

She mentioned that the choreographer, Bosco, humorously compared her feet to a penguin’s, but credited Shahid for being a supportive dance partner and helping her with the difficult routine.

In the song Gulaabo, Shahid Kapoor is joined on screen by his half-sister, Sanah Kapoor. Shahid was surprised when he found out she was part of the film.

Director Vikas Bahl cast Sanah after meeting her through casting director Mukesh Chhabra, and Shahid was shocked when Vikas told him that Sanah would be playing Alia Bhatt’s sister in the movie. Interestingly, Shahid even joked that Alia and Sanah look more like real siblings than he and Sanah do.

Shaandaar, directed by Vikas Bahl, is a light-hearted romantic comedy set at a luxurious destination wedding. Shahid Kapoor plays Jagjinder Joginder, a quirky wedding planner who falls for the bride’s sister, played by Alia Bhatt. The film is known for its colorful visuals and unique storytelling.

With strong support from Pankaj Kapur and Sanjay Kapoor, Shaandaar dazzles with its extravagant wedding scenes and lively soundtrack by Amit Trivedi, adding to its whimsical appeal.
