Son of Sardaar 2: Sanjay Mishra Reveals Insight on Filling in for Vijay Raaz in Ajay Devgn’s Movie; ‘It was always in the back of my mind…’

Ajay Devgn led Son of Sardaar 2 has come under scrutiny for various reasons. Earlier, Pinkvilla exclusively reported that Vijay Raaz, who had a key role in the upcoming movie, was removed from the cast. He was later replaced by Sanjay Mishra. In a recent interview, the veteran star talked about taking on the role originally meant for the Run actor.

During a conversation with India Today, Sanjay Mishra mentioned that he has completed shooting his part in Son of Sardaar 2. “All of this is a part of the business, to be very honest,” the seasoned actor stated, revealing that he agreed to do the film because Ajay Devgn personally called him. Just one call from the Singham Again actor was enough to convince him to step in and fill Vijay Raaz’s shoes in the movie. Describing Devgn as a close friend, Mishra shared that it was not an easy decision to replace Vijay.

The Jolly LLB 2 actor also took the opportunity to applaud Raaz, calling him a phenomenal actor. Mishra acknowledged that he felt the pressure to perform at his best, especially after replacing such a talented actor like Vijay. Despite the situation, Mishra assured that they are friends and will remain so. His admiration for Vijay’s work motivated him to deliver a top-notch performance to do justice to the audience and Ajay who trusted him.

While speaking to us, Kumar Mangat Pathak, the co-producer of Son of Sardaar 2 alongside Ajay Devgn, confirmed that Vijay Raaz was removed from the film due to his behavior on set. According to Pathak, the actor made unreasonable demands for bigger rooms, a vanity van, and overcharged for crew members. Pathak revealed that Raaz’s spot boy was paid excessively which was beyond industry norms.

In his response, Raaz explained that he did not greet Ajay Devgn when he saw him standing at a distance. “I didn’t go to greet him as he was busy, and I continued to speak to my friends. 25 minutes later, Mr. Kumar Mangat came to me and said, ‘You are out of the film.’ The only mistake I made was not greeting Mr. Ajay Devgn,” Raaz shared.
