Shraddha Kapoor followed in the footsteps of her father, senior actor Shakti Kapoor, and entered the world of filmmaking. Despite her success and proving her talent, she is grateful to her dad for the opportunities that have come her way. In a recent interview, the actress talked about her father’s struggles when he moved from Delhi to Mumbai to become a successful actor.
During the NDTV World Summit 2024, Shraddha Kapoor praised her dad and acknowledged his hard work to achieve success in the industry without having a film background. She shared that Shakti Kapoor used to visit specific directors’ houses where he wanted to work, even when security wouldn’t allow him inside. “He would dress up as the character he wanted to play and visit directors’ houses to convince them. That’s how he got cast,” the Stree 2 actress revealed, noting that such stories about him inspire her to remain grounded and thankful for the opportunities she has received.
The Half Girlfriend actress also shared that it makes her ecstatic when people approach her as fans of her father. She mentioned that her father didn’t come from a film family and hailed from Delhi. “He has spent most of his childhood here,” the young star reminisced.
The 37-year-old actress added that Shakti Kapoor had no background in acting and only attended an acting school after expressing his desire to become an actor to his parents. Despite his father’s wish for him to work in a travel agency, the Raja Babu actor followed his passion and found his way into the Indian film industry.
Even today, he shows interest in Shraddha’s work and she seeks his advice before taking on a project. “I have immense respect for him. He’s a self-made man,” she affirmed, highlighting that his journey is always inspiring.
