Neetu Kapoor was a popular actress in the late 70s but took a break from acting when she married Rishi Kapoor. After his passing in 2020, she made a comeback to showbiz. In a recent episode of the web show Fabulous Lives Vs. Bollywood Wives S3, she revealed that she initially hesitated to return to work due to fear of trolling, but her children Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Ranbir Kapoor supported her.

From 1980 to 2020, Neetu Kapoor appeared in some films alongside her husband but chose to step back from acting after their marriage to focus on her family. However, she made a strong comeback to the big screen with Karan Johar’s Jugjugg Jeeyo.

During a recent episode of the show Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives S3 featuring her daughter Riddhima, Neetu Kapoor shared her experience of overcoming her fears and struggles after Rishi Kapoor’s death.

She recalled the moment she decided to return to work, saying, “After Papa (Rishi) passed away, I wasn’t sure. You know how harsh the trolls can be. But you (Riddhima and Ranbir) encouraged me. I did a show, I did ads. I used to feel anxious before every appearance.”

Neetu Kapoor tied the knot with Rishi in 1980, and despite 40 years of a successful marriage, his loss was profoundly felt by the actress. Reflecting on those challenging times, she shared her decision to take things slow and explore new opportunities in life.

She expressed, “If I sat at home and did nothing, I would go mad. Today, I feel much better. I wasn’t in a good place even last year.” Apart from her acting projects, Kapoor is also involved in brand endorsements and cherishes time spent with her children and grandchildren.

On the professional front, Neetu Kapoor made her television debut as a judge on Dance Deewane Juniors in 2022 and is set to appear in the upcoming film Letters to Mr. Khanna alongside Sunny Kaushal.
