Darshan Jariwala, co-star of Ranbir Kapoor in Raajneeti, praises him as the top actor among present peers and reflects on Shahid Kapoor seeking guidance from him
Ranbir Kapoor, who made his acting debut with Saawariya in 2007, is considered one of the most talented actors of his generation. He has collaborated with seasoned actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, and Anil Kapoor. Veteran actor Darshan Jariwala, who worked with him in Raajneeti, considers Ranbir to be the best actor among his current contemporaries. He also shared an interesting anecdote about Shahid Kapoor seeking advice from Ranbir.
During a recent interview with Digital Commentary, Darshan Jariwala shared his thoughts on Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in his latest film, Animal (2023).
“In his current contemporaries, he is the best. He doesn’t restrict himself to specific roles; he experiments with different characters and films,” Darshan commented, citing examples of Ranbir’s diverse roles in films like Brahmastra and Animal.
Recalling their collaboration in Raajneeti, Darshan mentioned how Ranbir learned a lot from directors like Prakash Jha. He also revealed Shahid Kapoor sought advice from Ranbir before signing Phata Poster Nikhla Hero.
Directed by Prakash Jha, Raajneeti featured Katrina Kaif opposite Ranbir Kapoor and also starred actors like Manoj Bajpayee and Nana Patekar. Darshan has also worked with Ranbir in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.
In other news, Ranbir Kapoor has been chosen to lead Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 4, where he will play the antagonist. Additionally, he is set to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
Ranbir’s upcoming projects include Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana where he plays Lord Rama, alongside Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. His impressive filmography includes movies like Rockstar, Sanju, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and many more.
