Aditya Roy Kapur shares his thoughts on being labeled ‘commitment phobic’: ‘You need to feel driven to enter…’
Bollywood star Aditya Roy Kapur, known as one of the nation’s most charming actors, recently discussed his personal life on a show. Talking about commitment, he shared that he’s not afraid of committing and had long-term relationships in his younger years. Aditya emphasized that being in a relationship should stem from a genuine desire and connection, rather than a fear of being alone.
In a conversation with Kareena Kapoor Khan on her show What Women Want, Aditya Roy Kapur addressed the topic of commitment. Referring to his dating history, he denied being commitment-phobic, mentioning past long-term relationships that lasted for years. Aditya stated that his previous relationships show that he’s not scared of commitment.
The Night Manager actor stated, “I can’t say I’m commitment phobic because I had long-term relationships when I was younger, like a five-year relationship and a three-year relationship. I should not think I’m commitment-phobic.”
Aditya Roy Kapur further explained that getting into a relationship should be driven by a genuine desire to be with someone, not just to avoid being alone. He emphasized the importance of feeling a strong connection with someone and truly wanting the relationship. “You have to feel compelled to get into something with someone and you have to feel like you really want it. You aren’t getting into it just because you don’t like being on your own,” he said.
He mentioned that while he is content and emotionally self-sufficient on his own, having love in his life brings a different kind of fulfillment. Aditya highlighted the balance between independence and the joy of a loving relationship.
