Louis Tomlinson Sends Emotional Message to Liam Payne and Son Bear
Louis Tomlinson is mourning the loss of his friend Liam Payne.
After Payne’s tragic passing on Oct. 16 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Tomlinson—his former One Direction bandmate, along with Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan—broke his silence, expressing his struggle to bid farewell.
“I am completely devastated to be writing this but yesterday I lost a brother,” Tomlinson posted on Instagram Oct. 17 next to a picture of the two. “Liam was someone I admired every day, such a positive, funny, and kind spirit. I met Liam when he was 16 and I was 18, I was immediately impressed by his voice but more importantly, over time I got to see the loving brother I had always wished for.”
The “Just Hold On” singer then praised Payne’s talent and contribution to their group’s success.
“Liam was an amazing songwriter with a great sense of melody,” Tomlinson added. “To me, Liam was the most crucial part of One Direction. His early experiences, his flawless pitch, his stage presence, his knack for composing. The list goes on. Thank you for molding us, Liam.”
