Gene Deal, Diddy’s former bodyguard, is back in the news, this time with a story involving Jay-Z and Tupac. Deal claims that Jay-Z avoided contact with Tupac by hiding in a hotel room before a concert. It wasn’t until Suge Knight intervened that the tension was resolved.
In an interview with Cam Capone News, Deal revealed, “I don’t know how Pac found out that Jay-Z had a show, but Jay-Z was not coming out of that room.” He explained that Jay-Z had organized a show in Las Vegas but decided to stay in his hotel room after the altercation with Tupac.
Deal recalled that Suge Knight was called in to calm Tupac down so that Jay-Z could perform. Suge mentioned that Tupac had a volatile personality, causing the chaos. Deal added, “Suge Knight told Pac to give Jay-Z a pass so he could go do his concert because Jay wasn’t coming out of that room, you know, to do nothing.”
While Deal couldn’t pinpoint the exact reason for the conflict between Jay-Z and Tupac, he suggested that it could be related to Jay-Z’s earlier collaboration with Biggie Smalls on the song Brooklyn’s Finest. In the song, Biggie mentions Tupac, which may have fueled the rift between the two artists during the East Coast-West Coast feud.
Deal mentioned that there were numerous assumptions about hidden disputes in the world of rap at that time, even though he couldn’t provide concrete evidence of a personal disagreement between Jay-Z and Tupac. His interviews, especially those involving Combs, have attracted public interest due to Diddy’s recent controversies.
In 2015, DJ Clark Kent claimed that Jay Z recorded a diss track aimed at Tupac but never released it due to Tupac’s passing in 1996.
According to Gene Deal, law enforcement agencies were aware of Diddy’s alleged transgressions for years before taking action in 2024. Deal’s comments shed light on Diddy’s past dealings and potential skeletons in his closet.
