Stars Mourn One Direction Singer’s Death

Liam Payne‘s midnight memories will forever live on.

The One Direction alum died on Oct. 16 after falling from a third floor hotel balcony in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, the Sistema de Atencion Medica de Emergencia confirmed to Telemundo. He was 31.

Payne had been visiting the Argentine capital with his girlfriend, influencer Kate Cassidy. Cassidy had returned the United States shortly before the “Strip That Down” artist’s death, according to her TikTok.

In the wake of his passing, stars from across the world flooded social media with tributes to the late singer, as well as condolences to his close friends and family—including his 7-year-old son Bear Grey Payne, with whom he shared with ex Cheryl Cole.

“Liam was always so kind to me,” Charlie Puth, who worked on the late singer’s 2017 single “Bedroom Floor,” shared on his Instagram Story. “He was one of the first major artists I got to work with. I can not believe he is gone.”

Meanwhile, Paris Hilton wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “So upsetting to hear the news of @LiamPayne passing. Sending love and condolences to his family & loved ones.”
