A shocking revelation in Chicago’s West Side neighborhood has caused a stir throughout the city.
Authorities in the area are currently looking into a concerning incident where a pedestrian stumbled upon a human head inside an open box on a sidewalk near a sports complex on West Taylor Street just before 6 p.m. on October 10, as reported by NBC Chicago. The pedestrian, who was walking their dog at the time, had initially hoped the box was just a Halloween prop, according to reports.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office has since verified that the box did contain human remains, although the identity of the deceased individual has not been confirmed. While an autopsy has been conducted, the cause of death remains unknown.
Various unanswered questions surround this perplexing discovery, such as the period for which the remains were present before being found, as well as details such as the victim’s identity, age, gender, and race. The remains have been sent to an anthropologist for further examination, including the comparison of dental records, as stated by CBS Chicago.
