Widowed Woman Celebrates Pregnancy of Late Husband Matthew Gaudreau
Matthew Gaudreau’s wife is honoring his memory.
Madeline Gaudreau, who is currently pregnant with her first child from the late minor league hockey player, recently had a baby shower that paid tribute to Matthew and his brother Johnny Gaudreau.
“The baby shower of my dreams,” Madeline, who disclosed that she is expecting a son named Tripp, shared on Oct. 13 on Instagram. “My husband would have loved all the balloons. The way you incorporated my husband made me emotional as soon as I walked in.”
The couple had announced their pregnancy on social media in June. Two months later, Matthew, 29, and his 31-year-old brother Johnny—who had children with Noa, 2, Johnny Edward, 8 months, and another baby on the way with his wife Meredith Gaudreau—lost their lives in a biking accident in New Jersey on Aug. 29.
“No one can bring back his dad or Uncle John,” Madeline added in her post. “But I’m grateful he is surrounded by so many wonderful people who can remind him of how incredible they were.”
