Gene Simmons Speaks Out About Controversial Comments on Dancing With the Stars
Gene Simmons is standing by his comments about Dancing With the Stars.
During the hair metal-themed episode on Oct. 9, the KISS rocker received criticism for focusing on the contestants’ appearance rather than their dancing skills. Despite the backlash, Gene stated, “I stand by every word I said.”
“I had a great time,” Gene shared with the Daily Mail on Oct. 10. “The contestants were great. The show was great.”
Reflecting on his experience as a guest judge, the 75-year-old expressed, “I had a lot of fun. Everybody had a great time.”
However, not all viewers were pleased with his remarks. Some criticized Gene for his focus on the female contestants’ looks, with one social media user on X (formerly known as Twitter) likening him to a “gross uncle” at a reunion.
Another viewer commented, “Gene Simmons is seriously making the ballroom uncomfortable with his inappropriate remarks about the female dancers.”
