Tragic Death of Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas Emma Brungardt at 19 in Car Accident
The rodeo community is mourning the loss of a talented young star.
Emm Brungardt, the winner of the 2024 Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas Pageant, tragically passed away in a car accident on October 4, confirmed by her school Colby Community College. She was only 19 years old.
Colby Community College posted on Facebook, stating, “Last night, she, along with 4 other team members and our work study, were involved in a car accident. Unfortunately, Emma did not survive. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected.“
They continued, “Emma was a kind-hearted individual who lifted others up and always had a positive outlook. Her spirit will continue to shine in and around the rodeo arena.“
According to a crash report by the Kansas Highway Patrol, Emma was one of six passengers in a pickup truck driven by an 18-year-old male. The truck veered off the road at a private drive intersection and collided with a row of trees, flipping over before coming to a stop.
The Wichita Eagle reported that Emma’s teammates from Colby Rodeo were also in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
