Heather Langenkamp from Nightmare on Elm Street Recalls Sweet Johnny Depp Memory

One of the most terrifying scenes in the movie, especially for Heather, turned out to be the bathtub scene. “I always remember the bathtub scene so vividly because there was the hot water, there’s the bubbles, there’s the glove coming up between my legs, which is so horrifying to me,” she explained. “It had just so many aspects that I found, personally, really scary.”

While giving viewers a good scare is definitely part of the franchise’s charm, Heather is also looking forward to the next generation of teenagers taking away a deeper message from the original film, which will be released on digital and 4K UHD for the first time in honor of its 40th anniversary.

“They’re movies not only about Freddie,” she explained. “They’re a lot about teenagers and what they go through. And it takes their problems really seriously.”

Warner Bros. will release 1984’s A Nightmare on Elm Street on digital on Oct. 1 and on 4K UHD on Oct. 15.
