Ruby Franke’s daughter criticizes Lifetime movie about her family as “garbage”
The allegations of abuse are related to incidents involving Ruby and Kevin’s two youngest children, who are now 13 and 11 years old. When Utah police received a report about a severely undernourished child, they discovered the Frankes’ youngest son, who appeared “extremely thin and underfed” with “visible injuries and duct tape on his limbs,” as outlined in a probable cause affidavit obtained by NBC News.
The boy had managed to escape through a window in Jodi’s residence in an attempt to seek help, while authorities later found his younger sister “terrified” and by herself in an empty closet inside the house, according to the affidavit.
During her sentencing hearing, Ruby admitted that she had followed misguided advice that led her down a dangerous path.
“I allowed myself to be swayed by misguided beliefs that brought me into a state of darkness,” the YouTuber mentioned. “I distorted the truth and cut off all contact with those who challenged me. To my children, you are a part of me. I mistook wrong for right and darkness for light. I would do anything for you. I deprived you of all that was comforting, secure, and pure.”
