Anne Hathaway’s Response to the News of The Princess Diaries 3 Announcement

After the announcement of the long-awaited third movie in the Princess Diaries series, Anne Hathaway appeared to confirm her return to the project.
In a video shared on her Instagram on Oct. 4, the Academy Award winner included clips from the previous films with her co-star Julie Andrews, counted to three, blew a kiss to the camera, and delivered one of her character’s famous lines: “Shut up!”
“Miracles happen,” the 41-year-old captioned the post. “Back to Genovia with @adeleblim @disney @somewherepictures. The fairy tale continues.”
Earlier that day, E! News confirmed that the highly anticipated Disney sequel was officially moving forward with Crazy Rich Asians screenwriter Adele Lim set to direct. Lim, who previously wrote the 2021 animated film Raya and the Last Dragon for Disney, expressed her excitement about being a part of the project.
“As a huge fan of the original Princess Diaries, I am thrilled to be involved in bringing the third chapter of this beloved franchise to life,” Lim said in a statement. “We are excited to highlight its core themes of female empowerment, joy, and mentorship with audiences worldwide.”
