Melissa Gilbert and Little House on the Prairie Cast Criticize 50th Anniversary Organizer for Canceling Event
Melissa Gilbert and the cast of Little House On the Prairie are criticizing the organizing committee of the 50th-anniversary celebrations for the show. They are specifically targeting Jack Bishop and his company, Gravel Road Markets LLC, for their poor work.
Cast members Melissa Gilbert, Alison Arngrim, Karen Grassle, Dean Butler, Charlotte Stewart, and Matthew Labyorteaux announced on September 6 that they will not participate in upcoming events in Tennessee, South Dakota, Missouri, and Texas. This decision was made after poorly organized events in Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
Gilbert shared with People the disastrous experience at the event in Pennsylvania, saying they ran out of food, oversold tickets, and didn’t pay vendors. She mentioned that fans had to use their phone flashlights due to poor lighting in the dining area.
The cast claimed that Bishop did not officially cancel the events or inform fans. They also criticized the misleading advertising of sold-out events on Eventbrite, particularly the upcoming ones in Branson and Corsicana.
Speaking about the situation, Gilbert expressed her disappointment and stated that this reflects poorly on the Little House on the Prairie brand. The cast sent a letter to Bishop requesting their names and support to be removed from any future initiatives by Gravel Road Markets.
The fans who attended the event in Keystone, South Dakota found that there was no event taking place. Gilbert revealed that Bishop falsely used her name as a co-producer of events without her consent.
Little House on the Prairie, which aired from 1974 to 1983, is a classic in television history starring Michael Landon, Karen Grassle, Melissa Gilbert, Melissa Sue Anderson, and more.
