Eminem’s Emotional Journey to Grandfatherhood is Revealed in New Music Video “Temporary”, Dedicated to Daughter Hailie Jade
Eminem was surprised by his daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, who shared the news that she’s expecting a baby. The emotional moment was captured on camera.
On October 3, Eminem released a music video for his song “Temporary,” dedicated to Hailie. The video includes footage of the rapper and his daughter over the years, as well as clips from her special day in May. Eminem can be seen holding back tears as he sees his daughter in her wedding dress and during their father-daughter dance.
At the end of the video, Hailie reveals to her dad that she’s expecting her first child with her husband, Evan McClintock. She gave Eminem a blue football jersey with “Grandpa” written on it and the number 1. She also showed him a sonogram, leaving him shocked and emotional.
Hailie announced her pregnancy on Instagram with a photo of her and Evan, captioned “Mom & Dad est. 2025.”
Hailie Jade got engaged to Evan McClintock on February 4, 2023, after dating for six years. They met at Michigan State University in 2016.
In an interview on Hailie’s podcast, McClintock shared that he asked Eminem for his blessing to propose during Hailie’s birthday party in December 2022.
Over a year after their engagement, Hailie Jade announced that she and Evan McClintock got married. Their wedding photos were shared on Instagram.
“Temporary,” featuring Skylar Grey, is a song dedicated to Eminem’s children on his latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).” “Somebody Save Me,” featuring Jelly Roll, is another apology to his kids for his past mistakes.
Eminem’s album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has re-entered the top 10 after the release of its Expanded Mourner’s Edition.
