‘I Think It Could Help Some People’: Jennie Garth Opens Up About Two Miscarriages With Husband Dave Abrams

Jennie Garth Shares Her Experience with Two Miscarriages Alongside Husband Dave Abrams: “I Believe It Could Be Beneficial for Others”

Jennie Garth and her husband, Dave Abrams, shared the difficult experience of facing two consecutive miscarriages shortly after their marriage in 2015 on her podcast, I Choose Me with Jennie Garth. Garth, 52, who has daughters Luca, 27, Lola, 21, and Fiona, 18, with her ex-husband Peter Facinelli, confessed that she has blocked out most of the memories from that time.

“This is a very sensitive topic, and I thank you for being open to discussing it as it could possibly help others,” Garth told her husband during the podcast. She then asked him about when they started talking about having children together.

“We got married on July 11, and then we got pregnant in the same month,” noted Abrams, 43. “It happened naturally,” added Garth.

Abrams recalled returning from their mini-honeymoon to Carmel and discovering their pregnancy two weeks later. They visited Garth’s gynecologist, who initially gave them a positive outlook. Unfortunately, they learned four months later that their baby had no heartbeat.

Despite feeling saddened by the loss, Abrams emphasized that he did not harbor any resentment towards his wife. They were informed about the option of a dilation and curettage (D&C) procedure.

Garth had the procedure on the same day they received the heartbreaking news. The couple then came to terms with the idea that having a child together might not be in their future.

However, they experienced another miscarriage shortly after. This time, Garth’s pregnancy was even shorter, resulting in the loss of their second baby. Garth expressed feelings of disappointment and shame for not being able to give Abrams a child of his own after he had been a supporting stepfather to her daughters.

Garth had hoped to give Abrams a baby boy. Despite the challenges they faced, the couple remains resilient and committed to each other.
