Elton John Delights Audience with Unexpected Performance at Never Too Late Documentary Premiere: ‘I’ve Accomplished Everything’
Sir Elton John made a surprise appearance at the New York Film Festival for the premiere of his documentary, Elton John: Never Too Late, on October 1st. The legendary entertainer, 77, sang Tiny Dancer while seated at the piano.
John, dressed in a black and white suit, delighted the crowd with his unexpected performance. His husband David Furnish, who helped direct the film with R.J. Cutler, was also present. He followed his performance with a speech filled with gratitude for his music career.
In his speech, Elton John thanked music for being a constant companion through good and difficult times. He expressed gratitude for his art, which has been an incredible inspiration throughout his career.
Reflecting on his past, John shared how fame was not enough until he found humility, gratitude, and faith in 1990. He spoke about finding true happiness with his husband and children, something fame alone could never provide.
The documentary tells the story of Elton John’s career and his last concert at Dodger Stadium. It depicts his struggles as a young artist facing homelessness, violence, and drug abuse. The film showcases his best work, including live performances and collaborations.
Elton John: Never Too Late will be available on Disney+ on December 13.
