Exploring Frances Bean Cobain’s Personal Life with Husband Riley Hawk
The Bard College alum was already an experienced artist, with a solo gallery show in L.A. featuring her drawings titled “Scumf–k” in 2010 when she was just 17 years old.
“Most of my artwork has a humorous element,” Frances, who exhibited under the name “Fiddle Tim,” shared in an Interview at the time. “I found every piece funny, although it turns out it was only funny to me.”
Reflecting on the documentary released five years later, she told RS, “Strangely, at 22, I feel a new drive and passion that was not there before—not due to the documentary, but on a personal level. I now have a motivation and ambition that was previously lacking.”
Frances added, “The most challenging part of any creative endeavor is simply starting. Once I make the effort to get out of bed and enter my art room, I begin painting. I am present, and I am creating.”
