A heartbreaking incident has occurred in Arizona. A 9-year-old boy was discovered deceased in his home during a welfare check conducted by authorities on July 14, as per a press release from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department shared with E! News.
According to the department’s statement, “The investigation revealed that the child had been deceased on a couch inside of the residence for an extended period of time.”
Joseph Antonsen, the father of the child, has been arrested for two felony counts of child abuse and one felony count of negligent homicide, confirmed by authorities, with the investigation still ongoing.
Antonsen informed the police, as reported by local outlet KVOA, based on an interim complaint, that his son fell ill on July 12, eventually “shuttering and going limp.” Antonsen then allegedly went to start his car to take his son—whose name was not disclosed by the police—to seek medical help, but upon returning inside the house, he found his son breathing but with no pulse.
