Valerie Bertinelli and her boyfriend Mike Goodnough finally stepped out together on the red carpet at the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards held at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites in Los Angeles on Friday night (June 7). The couple went Instagram official in April after Bertinelli confirmed that she was “in love.”
They were photographed walking hand-in-hand, exuding joy and affection for each other. Bertinelli was nominated for Outstanding Culinary Host at the show, and her Food Network series Valerie’s Home Cooking was also in the running for Outstanding Culinary Series. Although she did not win in the Culinary Series category, there is still a chance for her to win as a host, with the winner to be announced at Saturday’s ceremony.

Beloved actress and celebrity chef Valerie Bertinelli and her boyfriend Mike Goodnough made their debut on the red carpet together at the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Goodnough praised his girlfriend, saying, “Valerie poured her heart and soul into that show.”
Their relationship began with a DM on Instagram a few years ago when writer Goodnough first connected with Bertinelli. Now, as he came to support her at the Daytime Emmy Awards, he expressed his excitement and joy over her success.
“Tomorrow and Saturday, I get to be Valerie’s ‘and guest’ at the awards ceremony… and I’m going to be the happiest ‘+1’ in the place,” he captioned a clip.
He mentioned that the nominations were a well-deserved honor, and winning would be icing on the cake. Regardless of the outcome, he was genuinely happy for Valerie and thrilled to be by her side.
Their relationship became public in April when Bertinelli confirmed it on Instagram, and Goodnough also shared the news on his social media. Reflecting on their romance, he proudly introduced himself as “Valerie Bertinelli’s boyfriend” and expressed his happiness and excitement about their relationship.

“Well, he was a novice until now,” Bertinelli joked, to which Goodnough blushed and replied, “I lost my innocence.”
Bertinelli couldn’t help but shower him with compliments, highlighting his qualities as brilliant, smart, funny, talented, an amazing writer, kind, and thoughtful. She humorously added, “He’s a hot piece of…”
Last month, the One Day at a Time alum announced on Instagram that she would be taking a break from social media due to feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted.
