“The Bold And The Beautiful’s Thorsten Kaye Wins Outstanding Lead Actor at the 51st Daytime Emmy Awards”
The 51st Daytime Emmy Awards wowed everyone once again on June 7. Announcing all of the winners, the 2024 awards honored Thorsten Kaye on stage as the best actor. He is highly regarded for his role in the drama series The Bold and the Beautiful.
Thorsten Kaye wins best actor
This year’s Daytime Emmy Awards showcased a stellar lineup of winners. Despite some well-known and acclaimed actors being nominated in the best actor category, Thorsten Kaye walked away with the title.
Kaye was awarded for outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actor. He earned the recognition for his portrayal of Ridge Forrester in The Bold and the Beautiful on June 7.
During his acceptance speech, he graciously thanked everyone who has supported him in his acting journey. He expressed gratitude towards not just the cast of The Bold And The Beautiful, but also his family members for their unwavering support during his struggles and triumphs.
“I gotta be very honest; I don’t like award shows,” Kaye joked on stage.
He went on to explain that his opinion of award ceremonies had changed after this night, now finding them meaningful.
Praising his co-stars, he acknowledged that achieving greatness requires an exceptional boss and a tolerant cast. Reminiscing about the support he received, he concluded, “I have all of that so thank you.”
He also expressed his love and gratitude towards his children, Marlowe and McKenna, stating, “Being your dad is the greatest honor of my life.” Additionally, he thanked his wife Susan for everything she sacrificed and for their beautiful children.
Nomination for Best Actor
While the audience celebrated Thorsten Kaye’s victory in the best actor category, he faced tough competition from other nominated stars.
The best actor nominations in this year’s daytime drama series included Eric Braeden from The Young and the Restless, as well as Eric Martsolf from Days of Our Lives.
Kaye had a close win even with his fellow The Bold and the Beautiful cast members, Scott Clifton and John McCook, who were also nominated.
