Plane Crash Claims Lives of Three Members of The Nelons Family Gospel Group
The gospel music community is in mourning.
Three members of The Nelons, a Grammy-nominated family gospel group, passed away in a private plane crash in Wyoming that tragically took the lives of all seven individuals on board on July 26.
Singers Kelly Nelon Clark, Jason Clark, and their daughter Amber Nelon Kistler lost their lives, as well as Amber’s husband Nathan Kistler, the band’s assistant Melodi Hodges, and the pilot Larry Haynie and his wife Melissa Haynie, according to a statement released by Gaither Management Group.
“The Nelons, one of the most cherished Gospel music families in America,” the company expressed. “The Nelons were involved in a tragic and fatal plane crash while en route to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska.”
Kelly and Jason’s youngest daughter, fellow Nelons singer Autumn Nelon Streetman, age 27, traveled separately to the cruise with her husband Jamie Streetman. In the wake of the accident, Autumn, who is pregnant in her second trimester with their first child, expressed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support.
