Woman, 25, Shares News of Her Own Passing on Social Media
Daniella Thackray took control of her eulogy.
On February 23, her family announced her passing on Facebook and LinkedIn. They shared a message she had written about her battle with cholangiocarinoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that affects the bile ducts, as described by Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Daniella started her note by saying, “If you’re reading this, then it means I have died from my battle with cancer and my family are posting my final message on my behalf.”
Originally from Leeds, U.K., she emphasized that not all cancers are due to lifestyle choices. Despite being healthy and active, she developed a non-preventable form of cancer that changed her life forever.
She acknowledged that there was no cure for her condition but expressed hope for more research to be conducted on the disease to save lives in the future.
