2024 ACM Awards Make Light of Morgan Wallen’s Chair-Throwing Incident
The Academy of Country Music Awards addressed recent actions by Morgan Wallen.
During the 2024 ACM Awards in Dallas on May 16, Noah Reid and Ashley McBryde made jokes about the singer’s recent incident where he was arrested for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. This incident involved Wallen allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of Chief’s Bar in Nashville.
On stage, Noah sang a humorous line referencing the incident, while Ashley jokingly suggested that Wallen should smile in his mugshot.
Despite not attending the show, Morgan Wallen was booked by the Metropolitan Nashville Police department in April for the incident. He later addressed the situation on social media, expressing regret and accepting responsibility for his behavior.
