20 Secrets to Finding Love: Lessons From 10 Things I Hate About You
There was some discussion about a possible sequel to 11 Things I Hate About You, but instead, a movie with a similar tone titled 10 Things I Hate About Life began production in 2012. The film starred Evan Rachel Wood and Thomas McDonnell as two individuals who meet while attempting suicide, but unfortunately, the movie was never released.
Director Gil Junger, working with producer Andrew Lazar, expressed their excitement about finding a fresh, young cast. Evan Rachel Wood stood out among the other actors due to her talent, depth, and emotional range. After multiple screen tests, McDonnell was chosen to star alongside Wood, with their chemistry being described as “electric.” The film also featured Skylar Grey in a musical role.
However, production came to a halt in February 2013 when the CEO of Intandem, the film’s financier, resigned. Additionally, Wood’s pregnancy that year delayed production further, with the new CEO claiming filming would resume in September. Eventually, in June 2014, Wood was sued for breaching her contract with the production company demanding $30 million in damages.
Wood’s representative denied the claims, stating that Wood was ready to continue filming in November 2013 but faced delays from the producers’ end.
