20-year-old Sean Garinger Dies in ATV Accident
A son, father, and brother have been lost too soon.
Sean Garinger, known for appearing on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant, passed away after an ATV accident on Feb. 28 at his home in Boone, North Carolina. He was 20 years old.
“Sean, also known as ‘Squishy,’ was a military brat who touched the lives of many across the country,” his obituary states. “He was friendly with everyone he met, regardless of age, and was always ready to help. His kind and giving nature made him beloved by all who knew him.”
The obituary goes on to say, “Sean had a zest for life. His love for adventure and excitement shone through in every aspect of his life.”
After Sean’s passing, his mother, Mary Hobbs, shared the events leading up to the tragedy.
“He was simply moving the ATV from one spot to another for me, so I could park it,” she told the U.S. Sun on March 1. “He parked the ATV in front of me and the ground caved in due to heavy rain and mud.”
Hobbs described how the ATV overturned on her son and her efforts to seek help from a neighbor to move the vehicle, only to realize that Garinger had already passed away.
